Southeast Student Sean Thomas to Participate in CSIS Trip in Washington, D.C.

2016 Feb 19

Southeast Missouri State University student Sean Thomas of Imperial, MO, has been selected to participate in a four-day seminar during spring break week March 13-18 at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, D.C.

CSIS is a strategic think tank whose scholars and board members provide advice to the federal government on significant social, economic, environmental and political global issues. Students at Southeast enroll in a course that allows them to work throughout the week with researchers and consultants who advise national leaders in the top levels of government as they develop policies and strategies that affect the United States and the global community.

Thomas is a junior pursuing a degree in biology and chemistry. He serves as president of the Interfraternity Council and Vice President of Sigma Nu and is a member of Order of Omega, Omicron Delta Kappa and Alpha Chi Sigma Professional Chemistry Fraternity. His career aspirations include becoming an infectious disease epidemiologist with the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Thomas is the son of Gary and Kristin Thomas of Imperial, Missouri, and is a 2013 graduate of Seckman Senior High School.
