Sherwin Christian Appointed as Presidential Ambassador at Southeast Missouri State University

Sherwin Christian of Ahmedabad, India, has been appointed by Dr. Carlos Vargas, president of Southeast Missouri State University, to serve as a Presidential Ambassador at the University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Presidential Ambassadors are student representatives of the president of the University. The Ambassadors assist the president and his staff in greeting and assisting visiting guests and dignitaries, serving at presidential functions and promoting good will to all those outside the University.

Christian is a senior pursuing a degree in biology with an option in biomedical sciences and a minor in chemistry. His career aspirations are to conduct cancer research and treatment development. He is vice president of Southeast's International Students Association and eat.drink.belong...on campus; and is a member of Southeast's Delta Delta Chapter of Alpha Chi Sigma Professional Fraternity in the Chemical Science. He has previously served as a chairperson for the Baptist Student Union, a student representative on Southeast's Residence Hall Association, and publicity chair for Southeast's Indian Sub-continent Students Association. He is a graduate of Southeast's First Year Leadership Program and Emerging Leaders student leadership program, and participated in the 2017 Missouri Governor's Student Leadership Forum on Faith and Values. Christian is the son of Hemilton S. and Sandhya H. Christian of Ahmedabad, India, and is a 2013 graduate of St. Xavier's College.
