Insley Smith Appointed as Presidential Ambassador at Southeast Missouri State University

Insley Smith of Wentzville, MO, has been appointed by Dr. Carlos Vargas, president of Southeast Missouri State University, to serve as a Presidential Ambassador at the University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Presidential Ambassadors are student representatives of the president of the University. The Ambassadors assist the president and his staff in greeting and assisting visiting guests and dignitaries, serving at presidential functions and promoting good will to all those outside the University.

Smith is a sophomore pursuing a degree in corporate communication and healthcare management. Her career aspiration is to attend law school and become a lawyer. She is a member of Southeast's Phi Mu Chapter of Delta Delta Delta and Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society; senator for Southeast's Student Government Senator; student representative to Southeast Missouri University Foundation Board of Directors; and a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters. She is a recipient of Southeast's 2016 First-Year Student Award for her leadership on campus. Smith is the daughter of Michael and Christina Smith of Wentzville, Missouri, and is a 2015 graduate of Timberland High School.
