Harman Malhi Appointed as Presidential Ambassador at Southeast Missouri State University

Harman Malhi of Cape Girardeau, MO, has been appointed by Dr. Carlos Vargas, president of Southeast Missouri State University, to serve as a Presidential Ambassador at the University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Presidential Ambassadors are student representatives of the president of the University. The Ambassadors assist the president and his staff in greeting and assisting visiting guests and dignitaries, serving at presidential functions and promoting good will to all those outside the University.

Malhi is a graduate student pursuing a Master of Business Administration with an option in accounting. Her career aspirations are to become a certified public accountant and pursue a career in assurance, financial risk management or investment banking. She is an honorable graduate of Southeast's Alpha Psi Chapter of Gamma Sigma Sigma National Service Sorority, has served as a Student Government Senator for Southeast's Harrison College of Business; president for Southeast's International Student Association; and treasurer of Southeast's Mu Xi Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi International Honor Organization for Financial Information Students and Professionals; and was named Southeast's 2015 Women of the Year. She was a first-place team member and winner for "Best Q&A" at the 2017 Show-Me MBA Case Competition; a top finalist in the Accounting competition at the 2016 College DECA International Career Development Conference and Competition; a third-place team member of the 2015 International Business Institute; and participant in the 2015 Network of International Business Schools (NIBS) Worldwide Business Case Competition. She is also a student participant in the Southeast's 2015 Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) program, and a graduate of the President's Leadership Academy. Malhi is the daughter of Satinder and Seema Malhi of Plainfield, Illinois, and is a 2016 Southeast graduate and 2012 graduate of Bhatnagar International School.
