Austin Cordell Appointed as Presidential Ambassador at Southeast Missouri State University

Austin Cordell of Chesterfield, Missouri, has been appointed by Dr. Kenneth W. Dobbins, president of Southeast Missouri State University, to serve as a Presidential Ambassador at the University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

Presidential Ambassadors are student representatives of the president of the University. The Ambassadors assist the president and his staff in greeting and assisting visiting guests and dignitaries, serving at presidential functions and promoting good will to all those outside the University.

Cordell serves as the student representative to the Board of Regents. He is a member of the University’s Honors College and has been named to the Dean’s List every semester since he began at Southeast in 2012. Cordell has received several awards as a Southeast student, including the Greek Life New Member of the Year and the Residence Hall Association First-Year Student of the Year. He is a member of Presidential Ambassadors and Delta Chi Fraternity, where he serves as executive secretary and chair of the scholarship committee. Additionally, he serves as a senator in Student Government for the College of Health and Human Services. He serves on several University committees, including Funding for Results, Parking Citation Appeals, and the Honors College Review Committee. He is a facilitator and treasurer for the Emerging Leaders Program, serves as a justice on the Inter-Fraternity Council Judicial Board, and is a member of the Southeast Criminal Justice Association. Cordell is son of John and Carla Cordell of Chesterfield, Missouri.
